What maintenance does a mini split need each season?

Seasonal mini split maintenance includes cleaning the indoor and outdoor units, checking refrigerant and electrical components, flushing the drain, and servicing the air filter. Most seasonal issues come from dust and algae that cut airflow or block condensate drainage. Our technicians regularly service ductless systems across the Jacksonville Beach area. A unit can look clean yet lose performance when a thin film coats the indoor coil. Creeks Air’s semiannual Residential Maintenance Plan covers these tasks and provides a 10% repair discount with no overtime charges.

Key seasonal tasks we perform:

  • Blow out and clean the condensate drain
  • Clean outdoor coil; clean air handler and examine the evaporator coil
  • Treat the indoor unit with deodorizer and microbial stat
  • Check refrigerant pressure, motor volts/amps, and electrical connections; replace customer filter or clean washable

If you notice water leaks, ice, or error codes, turn the unit off and schedule service before running it again.
